This is the man who had been penciled down for the job. A professor of Political Science and International Relation, Former VC of Ondo State owned Adekunle Ajasin University and younger brother of the State governor. His name is Prof Nazim Olufemi Mimiko.
According to Vanguard newspaper, the government has found INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega to be uncooperative and is seeking to replace him with a less independent-minded person.
In order to remove Jega without raising suspicions, he would be asked to comply with the civil service procedure by proceeding on his 3 months terminal leave with effect from March 1, since he is expected to retire on June 13, 2015.
Prof Nazim Olufemi Mimiko, the brother of the PDP Governor of Ondo State, may replace Jega for being too ‘difficult’ and not allowing himself to be dictated to like other appointees of the government.
