HOW TO GIVE AND WHAT TO GIVE

Many people don't know what to give to people as gift(s). We see this when people give a couple cars and the husband is looking for a job or his salary is 20k and they have debts to pay or when you give a poor man a Land Cruiser SUV and expect him to use it and appreciate it, when he struggles to put food on the table or  when you give some on an iphone5 when he lives in a ghetto. Basically we don't think when we want to give.You don't give someone something without knowing the persons needs and wants. A person is looking for a job and your giving him an expensive car or expensive phone that is being outright inconsiderate, then you expect them to keep and maintain the gift how now?!!!!! Even God does not give more than  one can handle .

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN GIVING


 1. Get to know the person you want to give a gift. Knowing the person and understanding them will enable you know their likes and dislikes. This will enable you take an informed decision on what to get  for the person.


2. Analyse the persons situation and try to see what is lacking in the persons life. such as a job,clothing, financial problems such as new baby, wedding, fees,house rent,hospital bills.

3. Knowing the strength of the person financially,mentally,socially,academically and spiritually, will determine if the person capable of accepting the gift. Maintaining the gift is essential in a situation where the person sells the give it will look like the person doesn't appreciate the gift, but in real sense the person can has pressing needs and that gift is the only thing of value to sell to meet that need.


4. Allowing yourself to buy or give what is required to the person in question. Many people find it hard to give that which is in need to a person. Many things cause this, some are;Pride, Envy, plain out right ignorance,petty revery  and the list goes on. These have to be put aside and  so as to get the perfect gift to present.
